Since we have a school that ranges from grade JK to grade 8 it is often difficult to find a way of fundraising that appeals to all students.  Robert did an excellent job of both promoting and customizing the dance for each age group so that they all had a great time!

As much as some people may think they can save money by setting up and running a dance-a-thon, your services are well worth the cost.  There are not many fundraisers out there that you can make 70%-80% on the amount raised.  For anyone else deciding to do a dance-a-thon, having additional prizes for top sellers really boosts the pledges and student involvement.

Honestly, I can't think of a single part of the whole process that could be improved. I've been teaching for 30 years and I have organized many whole-school fundraising events and this was definately the easiest one on the teacher-in-charge. Robert was well-organized and efficient and responded quickly every step of the way. Unfortunately, I'm still a "paper" person but I'm managed to complete all of the communication and planning on-line. Our DJ Elliott was fabulous! He was professional and well-organized but also, lots of fun. His music was perfect for each group. He played appropriate songs for the kindergartens right up to the grade eights. The teachers appreciated it when he played a song that we could sing along with (eg. Twist and Shout!) Everyone danced - the custodian, the principal, all of the teachers and all of the students. At the end of the day, everyone was tired and laughing and in such great spirits. I honestly forgot to go and check how the fundraising part of the Dance-a-thon had gone. Four parents had come in to open the envelopes, count the money and complete the deposit form. We had raised $2,759 which is great for 250 students. Perhaps a little more money will come in on Monday. So all 3 of the "Fs" were accomplished: we had lots of fun, everyone participated (with or without bringing in a donation) so it was excellent fitness and we did some fundraising for special programs at the school. This is the first dance-a-thon we have done at our school. Our Home & School Association opted to try a dance-a-thon instead of the usual chocolate selling fundraiser. It was much less work and hassle for us to organize, especially with all of the support provided by Presswood. The parents and staff were extremely happy. We had lots of fun dancing and appreciated the opportunity to enjoy the event with the children. The students absolutely loved the dance-a-thon! I think that most of them would have liked to have had more time to dance. Our D.J. Luis was excellent! Everyone had nothing but good things to say about him - teachers, parents and students. Wow!!!! What a great event. The children had a great time and the adults did as well!!!!! The music was terrific and there were no major problems except for a grade one taking someone's glow necklace and stuffing it down the toilet!!! The biggest problem arising from that wasn't even the plumbing difficulties rather the little girl who was so upset her necklace was gone!!! The grade 7's and 8's were awesome and that was due to Jason really engaging them. My daughter loved it and the theme was great. I can't rave enough about your business and your support. I would not hesitate to book you again and again. The children could have danced another day I think and the teachers and support staff had a lot of fun. I have fabulous pictures and the children showed so much school spirit it was a treat to see. I would recomme! nd you and your crew a million times though I don't think you really need the recommendations as your business must get a lot of repeat customers. The day was a total success. Now that I have experience with this event, I will know for next year just how long the glow bracelets take to get together!!! We had to assemble the primaries and separate the rest of the classes and I had no idea how time consuming that would be and how raw my thumbs and fingers would be for a couple of days after!!! My neighbours just came to call on my daughter as I am typing this and they are still talking about the dance!!! I heard great feedback from children around the school and they were appreciative to our DJ as well. He was particularly impressed with our older students and how responsive they were and I was pleased that he let them know how he felt, as their positive behaviour was a reflection of our great school. Anyway Robert, I could go on and on about how happy we were with our day bu! t I will end it here.
